You are the reason we do this, and we are so glad you want to learn more about hosting a CPRParty™. For your convenience, below are some frequently asked questions. After reviewing this information, if you have more questions feel free to contact us directly. However, please forgive any delay if we don’t reply right away. We are a small but mighty organization and have recently received national media attention which is awesome! As a result, the inquiries for parties have significantly increased (which is also awesome!) We will make every effort to get back to you within 24 - 48 hours. So don’t feel rejected, it’s not you. It’s us!

MISSION OF CPRPARTY™:

 

The mission of CPRParty™ is to provide CPR training and water safety tips to all Americans regardless of financial ability.

 

 

PURPOSE OF CPRPARTY™:

 

The purpose of CPRParty™ is to empower all Americans with the life-saving skills of CPR and water safety education in a fast, fun and free environment.

 

The more people trained in basic CPR and the more people learn to be safe around the water; the more lives we save. What better way to do that than to make learning these lifesaving skills fast and casual environment!

 

 

DON'T FEEL LIKE HOSTING A PARTY BUT BELIEVE IN #CPRPARTY AND THE #CITIZENPARAMEDIC MOVEMENT?

 

That's cool! We get it.  Donating just $15 gives one person who can't afford it the opportunity to learn these lifesaving skills. We believe their loved ones are just as important as the loved ones of those who can afford training, don't you?  There are other fun ways to help too! You can do something creative (like growing a mustache) or routine (like your everyday running goals). WILL I BE CERTIFIED AFTER A CPRPARTY™?

 

A CPRParty™ is an awareness course.  You will know what to do in the event of an emergency, but you will not be certified. However, our nationwide training partner Rescue One Training for Life conducts formal training for laypeople and professionals so they can work with you to set up a certification course if that is what you desire.

 

 

IS THERE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE I NEED TO HOST A CPRPARTY™?

 

We ask that you gather 10 or more people to host a CPRParty™.  We provide one instructor for a party of up to 20 people.  We add an instructor per each group of 20 people i.e. 30 people would require two instructors. We can train up to 150 people at a time.

 

 

WHAT'S A TYPICAL PARTY SCHEDULE?

 

Below is a sample timeline of a typical evening CPRParty™. Some hosts choose to have their parties in the evening and some do a breakfast or lunch timeframe.  There are no rules!

 

5:00-5:30 PM Guest arrive and mingle.

 

5:30-7:00 PM Let’s party! Sit, chat and learn adult, child, infant CPR and get a demo on an AED.

 

7:00 PM-whenever! Pat yourself on the back and enjoy your evening!

 


WHAT WILL WE LEARN?

 

You and your guests will learn all kinds useful tips and tricks as well as the typical skills taught in a typical CPR class like compressions on manikins, how to use an AED, child and infant CPR and more! Bottom line: You will know what to do in the event of an emergency and learn how to save a life.

 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO HOST A CPRPARTY™?
 

An open space large enough to accommodate your number of guests to kneel on the floor with manikins, a little nosh, and an hour or so to learn this lifesaving skill.

 

 

CAN I HOST A CPRPARTY™ AT MY WORK?

 

We've done it all! You can host a CPRParty™ in your home, work, religious institution, community center or wherever you and your group can feel comfortable to learn the skill to save a life. 

 

 

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY CPRPARTY™?

 

We understand that things come up.  If you need to cancel your scheduled CPRParty™ we kindly request 72 hours (3 days) notice.  Why so long? We book our certified instructor trainers for these parties.  Our trainers often do this on their off hours and can book other parties during this time. If we do not give them enough advance notice, we will have to pay them for their time.  We do not feel this is an acceptable use of our donor's funds, so we adhere very strictly to this policy.  We're so sorry to be party poopers on this one but we gotta keep it real here folks.

 

DO I HAVE TO TAKE A TEST?
 

There is no written testing for a CPRParty™, just easy, comfortable instruction and discussion. We will have your guests practice on the manikins and conduct an AED demo to ensure that each participant is comfortable and skilled in CPR before the party is over!

 

I AM A CPR INSTRUCTOR TRAINER. CAN I HOST PARTIES IN MY TOWN?
 

YES! In fact, it's a "side hustle" (AKA makes some extra cash) too! Click here to submit the form to be an official CPRParty™ instructor in your area and get first dibs on the party requests that come in! Once your accepted, our nationwide training partner Rescue One Training For Life will give you the run down on our course curriculum.  Don't want to wait for the phone to ring when a party pops up in your town?  No problem! We've got a solution for that! Find hosts and set up CPRParties in your area. We will pay you to do the training, but that's not all! If you choose to fundraise, after you reach $300 raised, you'll get bonuses for meeting fundraising milestones after that! We will provide you with all of the tools to host the party including printable marketing toolkit, and the invitation platform. IS IT REALLY A PARTY?

 

YES! You should serve food and drinks! However, we do ask that you do wait until after the instruction portion of the party to serve alcohol. This keeps the learning session effective and protects the integrity of the course.


 

WHAT DOES A CPRPARTY™ COST?

 

The mission of our CPRParty™ (a program of The Clay Foundation, a registered non-profit 501C3 46-0662328) is to make CPR training FREE for all Americans, but we’re not there yet!  So, we ask our hosts to raise a minimum of $300 or more (an average of $15 per person) to host a party.  This covers the cost of one instructor, for each group of 20 people or less, a donation toward our CPRParty™ scholarship fund and minimal operating costs of the program. The average cost for an awareness course like this is $50 - $75 per person and $200 - $250 per person for certification, so this is a bargain!!


 

CAN YOU HELP ME WITH FUNDRAISING? I FEEL WEIRD ABOUT ASKING MY GUESTS FOR MONEY.


Yup! The minute we saw that Classy.org is “on a mission to mobilize & empower the world for good” we knew they we’re the partner for us! We use the Classy.org platform to enable our hosts to raise money and rally support around this important cause. Given that 80% of cardiac events happen at home, your guest are raising funds to save the life of someone they love. They can join your CPRParty™ team or set up their own page.  It’s fun, you'll see!  

 

WHAT EXACTLY IS CLASSY.ORG?

 

Classy is the world’s largest fundraising platform for social good organizations. They enable nonprofits and social enterprises like CPRParty™ and to raise the support we need to solve humanity’s greatest challenges.

 

 

CAN I INVEST IN THE CPRPARTY SOCIAL IMPACT CAUSE?
 

YES! We are actively seeking social impact investors and sustaining partners to fund this non-profit 501C3 program on a consistent basis to make it free all the time for all Americans. We have an investment packet we can provide to you, just ask!

 

CAN I GIVE IN-KIND DONATIONS THROUGH MY COMPANY TO BE USED AT CPRPARTY™ EVENTS?
 

We would love to invite companies who fit within our mission, purpose, and values, to the homes of our hosts as they are the heart of CPRParty™. We are interested in discussing partnerships with companies that would like to provide our hosts with free products and services or deep discounts for use at their parties. In exchange for this access and exclusive ownership of your specific industry category (i.e. Company X is CPRParty™'s exclusive partner for party supplies, etc.), we would agree to co-promote each other's products and services on social media and otherwise. The partner company would also agree to a small monthly fee for participation in the program. Examples of industry categories include food & beverage, party supply, apparel & promo items, photo booths or other party entertainment and more!

 

 

MY FAMILY OR COMMUNITY CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THE FEE OR DONATE VIA THE PEER-TO-PEER OPTION, CAN WE STILL HAVE A PARTY?

 

ABSOLUTELY! You are the most important people to us. We believe all Americans have the right to learn lifesaving skills for FREE.  We raise funds to support CPRParty™ scholarships to host free parties and our operational costs to do so. If you are in need of financial support as you cannot raise the $300 requested for a 20 person party, just submit the CPRParty™ form on our website and write in the notes that you are requesting a scholarship party.

 

 

WHAT DO I WEAR?

 

You and your guests will be getting on the floor and kneeling over the manikins to practice so you should instruct your guests to wear comfortable clothes.

 


WHO CAN HOST A CPRPARTY™?

 

Anyone can host a CPRParty™ but here are some suggestions just to get your mind going!
 

  • Babysitters: Invite your friends over to get trained or just get a refresher.  Parents will be super impressed!
     

  • Friends: Invite your friends together for a party that will have lasting benefits
     

  • Realtors: Invite your old and new clients together
     

  • Homeowner Associations: Invite your neighbors
     

  • Employers: Give your employees a life-saving perk
     

  • Sales Managers: Reward your top producers, centers of influence or largest clients
     

  • Families, Grandparents & Caregivers: Show your love at your next family reunion, picnic, birthday parties or milestone event
     

  • Non-Profits: Reward your top fundraisers or donors as a way to say “Thank You”
